Smallwood

Smallwood, located just west of Uptown Charlotte, features a street grid of early 20th-century bungalows and brick homes. Most houses here were built between the 1920s and 1950s, giving the neighborhood a distinct architectural character. Residents have direct access to Smallwood Park and are close to Johnson C. Smith University. Freedom Drive serves as a main corridor, connecting the neighborhood quickly to both the city center and I-85. The neighborhood maintains a quiet residential feel despite its proximity to the urban core.
